Congratulations to the 15 successful applicants in the second round of the IIRSM Hummingbird Bursary, in partnership with L’Oréal

The bursary was established to support greater inclusivity in risk-related disciplines. The successful applicants are from Nigeria, Pakistan, the UK, Senegal, Kenya, UAE, Zimbabwe and India and have been awarded places, funded by L’Oréal, on the Managing Risk - The Essentials training course this month.

L’Oréal Global Vice-President of Health and Safety Malcolm Staves coined the phrase “Be the hummingbird”, inspired by a fable about how we can all make our own important contribution in life.

He said: “The Hummingbird Bursary promotes the idea that every one of us has a part to play in creating safer, healthier places of work. I’m delighted to be teaming up with IIRSM to offer their excellent training as part of the scheme, and thanks to our partners on the judging panel.”
